2013 Artisan Finalists Blog Hop - Day 5

We are already halfway through the Blog Hop! I am loving seeing everyone's work and being able to share my projects. Today I have another card to share; this is a "swing" card made using the Floral Frames Framelits Dies.

These swing cards are pretty easy to make. I just make a normal card base and fold the front back in half (so the cardstock would be scored at 4-1/4" and 2-1/8"). Then, you just make your Big Shot sandwich as normal, but put the top cutting plate only on the part of your cardstock you want to cut.

To make this card extra special, I lined the Very Vanilla Envelope with Cherry Cobbler CS that was embossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. I couldn't get the folder to emboss right on the card. So, I used it as a stamp with Versa Mark by inking up the folder, placing the part I wanted "stamped" in the folder and rubbing it with my bone folder.

The Daydream Medallion stamp set and coordinating Floral Framelits makes the layer super easy. I folded the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding in half before tying it on the card. The little bit of Daffodil Delight provides a nice pop for the sentiment.

Stampin' Supplies:
  • Daydream Medallion and Fabulous Phrases Stamp Sets
  • Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pads
  • Versa Mark
  • Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla Cardstock
  • Big Shot: Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Floral Frames Framelits Dies
  • Modern Label and Word Window Punches
