What you need: Stamp of your choice (this flower is from Flower Shop), Classic Stampin' Pad in the color of your choice (I'm using Raspberry Ripple), Versa Mark, Clear Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, and card-stock.
First thing you need to do is rub your card-stock with the Embossing Buddy. This ensures that the embossing powder will only stick to your image.
Next, you need to ink up your image with Versa Mark. Don't stamp it yet!
Then, ink up your image with your color (yes when it has Versa Mark on it, and no it won't ruin your ink pad). This technique seems to work better with the newer foam ink pads.
Now stamp your image!
Next, cover your image with Clear Embossing Powder and tap off the excess.
Ta-da! Now you have an raised, glossy, embossed image in any color you want!
If you use Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder instead of Clear Embossing Powder, you will get the same effect, except with sparkle! (who doesn't love sparkle?!?!?)
So, now go give embossing in every color a try! You will love it!

ReplyDeleteYou don't need the Versamark - just sprinkle embossing powder on the coloured print. Works for me just fine.

ReplyDeleteIn brand new to embossing and have tried 4-5 times and had very poor results. I found this blog page from moochingvaround the lovely card web lol. I did it exactly as you said, and yep I had my very 1st embossed protect. Thankyou so much Kaittlyn, however I then did it as someone 🖕 there and didn't use the versamark ink. And it worked great too. Xxx
