Easter Boxes

I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend! It was a beautiful day here in Michigan, and it was great to spend the day with family. I even was able to get outside to shoot a little bit of archery. Today starts the last week of the semester. It is hard to believe that by this time next year I will be preparing for graduation and (hopefully) a new job.

The project I have to share with you today are some Easter boxes that I made for my mom over the weekend. These boxes would be great for any spring-time holiday, such as Mother's Day.

The Kraft Boxes are great base to start with for any sort of gift giving. They decorate super easy and are extremely versatile. I decided I wanted to keep my packages monochromatic with a color that was representative of the recipient. I also went with softer colors to go with the whole Easter and spring time feel. The colors I used were Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, and Strawberry Slush.

I kept things pretty simple by using a piece of Designer Series Paper down the center of the boxes with Vellum Card Stock over top (the ends of both the DSP and Vellum are flagged). I love using Vellum for delicate projects because it just softens everything a tad. I haven't been using the Silver Baker's Twine, so I decided to double some up and tie it around the boxes twice.

Even though the flowers look labor intensive, they were a breeze to make! All I did was cut six of the circles from the Creped Filter Paper using one of the Floral Frames Framelits. I attached all of the pieces together using a Mini Silver Brad, and then just scrunched each layer individually.  The centers were made by cutting an 11" long pieces of card stock with the Fringe Scissors and then rolling it onto itself (I used two pieces per center). See! Easy!
