Creating Custom Shapes with Framelits

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you how I make custom shapes using the Framelit Dies (as seen here). It is pretty easy to do once you learn how and it has endless possibilities.

Creating Custom Shapes with Framelits:
  1. Cut your paper to be slightly smaller than the width of your selected Framelit Die. (I am using a die from the Word Bubble Framelits above.)
  2. Feed your paper through the die, so that one end of the paper sits on top of the die. The paper is only going to be cut underneath the die.
  3. Create your cutting sandwich as normal (Magnetic Platform > Cutting Pad > Paper and Framelit > Cutting Pad), but only put the top Cutting Pad on the portion of the die that you want to cut.* Then run it through your Big Shot.
  4. Repeat Step 2 for the other end.
  5. Repeat Step 3 for the other end.
  6. Ta-Da! You made a new shape using an existing die!
*If you put the Cutting Pad over the whole die, you will get an embossed line from the other end of the die.

See?!?!? It is not as bad as you thought! The options for this technique really go on and on. Below are just a couple of other custom shapes and the Framelits I used to make them.

So are you going to give it a try? I would love to see the shapes you create!

Smiles :)
