Creating Custom Shapes with Framelits:
- Cut your paper to be slightly smaller than the width of your selected Framelit Die. (I am using a die from the Word Bubble Framelits above.)
- Feed your paper through the die, so that one end of the paper sits on top of the die. The paper is only going to be cut underneath the die.
- Create your cutting sandwich as normal (Magnetic Platform > Cutting Pad > Paper and Framelit > Cutting Pad), but only put the top Cutting Pad on the portion of the die that you want to cut.* Then run it through your Big Shot.
- Repeat Step 2 for the other end.
- Repeat Step 3 for the other end.
- Ta-Da! You made a new shape using an existing die!
See?!?!? It is not as bad as you thought! The options for this technique really go on and on. Below are just a couple of other custom shapes and the Framelits I used to make them.
So are you going to give it a try? I would love to see the shapes you create!
