Hi everyone! We have another Monday Montage Blog Hop today! I always look forward to these hops, and am always inspired by the other ladies' fabulous work. I am especially excited for today, because I can finally share a project that I have been working on for forever!
I originally started with the pillow in the back. I seen a similar pillow and thought "I can make that out of paper!" I was so excited about the pillow, that I got a little carried away and made two more coordinating pillows. I love how the whole set turned out; they would definitely make a statement in any room!
I knew the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper (on the retired list) would be perfect for the main pillow. I cut the paper into 3" squares, scored them from corner to corner, and brought the points to the center. I then figured out a pattern that worked well, and sewed my folded squares onto some gray (a close match to Smoky Slate) cotton fabric.
The smallest pillow is made from the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon (on the retired list and unfortunately sold out). All I did was stick an Adhesive Sheet on a piece of fabric and lay my ribbon exactly how I wanted it. I then when back and sewed the ribbon in place. I love the texture and overall look of this pillow!
The last pillow is made from Crushed Curry circles sewn on white cotton fabric. I punched out a bunch of 2-1/2" Circles and embossed them with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. This folder perfectly complements the Designer Series Paper! I didn't have a real plan for arranging these circles. I just kind of started and liked the look of sun rays that developed. This is just a super fun pillow!
I think these pillows turned out great! They were definitely worth the time and effort!

ReplyDeleteDitto to what Donna just said! If you could see me you would see me standing giving you an ovation! I then you'd see me throwing roses toward you yelling "Brava Diva."

ReplyDeleteHighly creative, Caitlyn! Those are really beautiful. Will the pillows be in a "low traffic" area ... just for display, I take it?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the coolest things I've ever seen with our SU supplies - thank you so much for sharing your creativity with all of us!
