Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday my dad celebrated his birthday, so today I wanted to share the card I made for him. I love this card, and I think my dad will love it too! It is a great example that masculine cards don't have to be boring.

When most people sit down to make a masculine card, they think of nature and browns. Honestly, brown cards get boring after a while. Cards that are bold and have bright colors are just more fun to make (and receive I think) and they work just as well! I started this card off with the Hello Honey paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. I then added some Island Indigo and Smoky Slate to keep the card fun. The sentiment on this card actually comes from the Everyday Occasions Card Kit. I love that once you finish the cards in the kit, you still have the stamp set!

I really love the layering on this card. The sentiment and Silver Foil Paper were cut out using the Circle Framelits to fit perfectly in the Smoky Slate Starburst. I stitched the Smoky Slate piece onto the DSP just to give the card some more texture and interest (it took some serious patience to sew in a circle). The piece of Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon really makes this card pop. Lastly, a couple of Candy Dots brought the whole card together.
