Choose Happiness Decor - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

It's time for another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! I hope you have been joining us every Thursday; everyone has been sharing some great projects! I know that you don't want to miss a single project, so be sure to click the "Next" button at the end of each post.

I'm eager to share this home decor project with you today! I seen a color scheme browsing Pinterest one night that featured Blackberry Bliss with Kraft and Very Vanilla and instantly knew it would be perfect with the Choose Happiness stamp set. So the wheels in my head started turning...

On one of the walls in our house we have a some framed art (using retired Stampin' Up! vinyl) and a couple of shelves that just called for a little DIY decorating. I made the mason jar with flowers and was inspired by that to make the frame. The frame took me all of 30 minutes once the the jar was finished!

It is super easy to color mason jars! All I did was mix some Blackberry Bliss Reinker with Modge Podge until I got the color I wanted. Then I swirled around the inside of the jar until it was completely covered. The worst part is waiting for it to dry; I gave mine a couple a days to be completely dry. The great thing about coloring mason jars this way is that if you aren't happy with the result you just let it soak with water and soap and the color comes right off. In fact this Blackberry Bliss jar used to be Pool Party!

Keeping with the color scheme that inspired me, I filled the jar with some flowers made out of the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and Burlap Ribbon. The Typeset flowers consist of eight Fun Flower punches and have pieces of Burlap for the centers. I love how the Burlap Ribbon flowers turned out! Watch out for a tutorial on how to make them in the coming week!

I kept the tag simple so it wouldn't compete with the flowers. The wood flag image is clear embossed on the Kraft Card Stock. Just a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock stamped with the sentiment and couple of pearls was all that was needed to complete the jar.

The frame was intend to reflect the jar of flowers, so I used the same Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and some more Burlap Ribbon. The flower image from the Choose Happiness stamp set reflected the flowers perfectly! I added some of the Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon for some more color.

To pleat the Burlap Ribbon, I put a some Sticky Strip along the entire length and just folded it onto itself. The other sentiment from the stamp set was perfect for the frame! I'm really happy with how everything turned out, and the jar and frame look great sitting on the shelves!
