Be Awesome Banner - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Its Thursday, so that means it is time for another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! As always there are sixteen of us from all around the world, so be sure to click the "Next" button at the end of each post to visit everyone. I have no doubt that there is some amazing creations waiting for you!

Lately I have been loving inspirational banners and I decided to make another one using the For All Things stamp set. Except, I didn't want to use traditional fall colors and went with a color scheme of Wisteria Wonder, Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand. Believe it or not, the leaf image turned out awesome in these colors!

Using my stamps to watercolor is becoming one of my new favorite techniques! The Simply Created Banners are made of canvas, so they are perfect for this. I just stamped the leafs in Wisteria Wonder Ink on the banners and then spritzed the images with water. Be sure to stop spritzing with the water just before you are happy with it. The water and ink will continue to bleed until it is perfect!

You could say I went a little crazy on this project, as I did a lot of fussy cutting (cutting the images out by hand). It was totally worth it though! Those leaf garlands on the end banner pieces just make me happy! After cutting out the leafs, I tied some Linen Thread around each one and then tied the garlands to the twine of the banner.

The letters are from the Larger Than Life Alphabet set (quickly becoming a favorite of mine!) and also cut them out by hand. To attach the letters to the banner I decided to just staple them. Couldn't have been any easier! I wasn't sure how this would turn out as I was working on, but it ended up being awesome! I can't wait to hang it up at my desk at work next week!
