On this card, I wanted to use the Butterfly Thinlits in an unexpected way. Something different from the soft and pretty look butterflies are associated with. I decided to start with a really bold color scheme of Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, and Old Olive. To get a really saturated color when water coloring, I placed a couple of drops of ink directly onto the watercolor paper and then moved it around with some water and my Aqua Painter. This such a bold and fun look!
The butterfly is cut out of Vellum Card Stock so that it wouldn't compete too much with the bold colors. The pretty silver button, from the Artisan Embellishment Kit, with some Old Olive Baker's Twine was a nice finishing touch to bring more focus to that beautiful butterfly.
