My project this week features one design but two cards - one for Mother's Day and one for Father's Day. As you can see, these two card have the same layers and even the same piece of Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper. By changing the images and colors, I was able to create two completely different cards.
The Mother's Day card was the one I made first. This all started with that great gold pattern from the Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper; I discovered that patterns with gold could pick up another color in the white areas. So much fun! In this case, I sponged just the edges with some Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Ink. I then embossed the image from the Mother's Love Stamp Set for a subtle but noticeable look. A few other touches like doilies and stitching made this card complete.
I was really happy with how the first card turned out, and I decided to challenge myself to make this really feminine card into a masculine card. Believe it or not it was super easy! I just swapped the coral colors for Mossy Meadow and reached for the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. Then I just opted for some Gold Ribbon over the doilies and stitching and I was done!
