Neon I Think You're Great Cards - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hey guys! Welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Today we are sharing our projects that will be featured on the Stampin' Up! Facebook tomorrow. Just like the past few weeks we are excited to featuring some new products that are in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog coming out in June. Let me show you my cards, which are a ton of fun!

These cards use Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, and Pacific Point, and I seriously love them! Combined with a lot of white space, these colors create a very neon effect. The photographs do not lie - these cards are really that bright. The vibrancy of the colors was perfect for the super fun I Think You're Great Set.

Let me talk to you for a moment about the new lace ribbons. I do not like the lace ribbon. The vintage/shabby chic look of the ribbon is the complete opposite of my style. To get around my dislike for the ribbon, I began to cut some of it up. You may have noticed that on previous projects I cut the ribbon down to just the scallop portion. On these cards I cut the ribbon into narrower strips, and let me tell you it is the best! The pieces of ribbon are more playful, go with many different styles, and is a great way to add texture. If you weren't sure about the ribbon like me, I suggest you get some and start cutting because you are going to love it after that!

The stripes on this card are a breeze to make. Just pick up some ink with an Aqua Painter and swipe it across the paper. Easy! Another thing I love about these cards are the coordinating envelopes. I love how the In Color Envelope Paper is solid on one side and patterned on the other. The pattern is such a fun surprise for the inside of the envelopes. I embossed the card bases with the Wood Grain Embossing Folder to give them them the same pattern as the envelopes.

I got it into my head that I needed to make a Dazzling Diamonds cloud. I have no idea why, but the "hi!" stamp was the perfect excuse to do so. I don't have any great tips on how to make your own cloud. I just drew the shape that I wanted and cut it out. I used a cloud from scrap paper as a mask and spritzed Pacific Point all over the card front the create a really fun layering effect. I also used the straight and scalloped edges in the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to paper-pierce around the masked cloud. All in all, these cards are just a lot of fun! I love the colors, the images, the textures, and the energy that these cards have.
