Watercoloring is a great technique to have in your toolbox. I love to watercolor for fun backgrounds (here, here, and here). Recently I have rediscovered my love for watercoloring stamped images. With this sudden loss of blendabilities, watercoloring has become my solution for getting beautifully colored images.
My first tip for watercoloring an image is to try embossing it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder instead of just stamping it in StazOn. This creates a softer effect than having a black outline. This hydrangea from the Best Thoughts Set was colored with Blackberry Bliss Ink. I start with just a bit of color and go back over it with more color to create layers of shadows and highlights. Don't be afraid to mix colors too. Watercoloring can be intimating, but I encourage you to grab an Aqua Painter and give it a try!
